The House Bunny
Anna Farris stars with “American Idol” runner up Katherine McPhee (that’s her pregnant below), and Demi Moore-Bruce Willis’ baby girl Rumer Willis in this comic tale of a Playboy Bunny bounced from the mansion after a faux pas.
The cast of “The House Bunny” was in full force at the MTV Movie Awards in June and Farris seemed more thrilled about her on screen performance producing laughs at test audiences than the screaming crowds surrounding her.
Incredible, given the fact this is the actress that anchored four Wayans brothers “Scary Movie” features.
Crossing Over
Harrison Ford drops his early summer Indiana Jones hat for a drama that also stars Jim Sturgess and Ashley Judd.
An intense piece of work, “Crossing Over” is the story of Los Angeles from an immigrant’s point of view. Filmmaker Wayne Kramer delves into the bright light that is America. A beacon that still, even with all the problems of late for immigrants in the U.S., are drawn to the blinding light that is America.
Death Race
Our favorite new action hero, Jason Statham, jumps off the big screen once again with this thriller that keeps the summer boom-boom going for those boys and girls still craving more popcorn fare.
Tyrese Gibson joins Statham in his latest thrill-ride.
Jensen Ames (Statham) was a car racing champ. He is framed for a murder he did not commit. Like any film with that premise, (think “The Fugitive,” also an August summer movie) watch for the hero to emerge successful, but not without dragging audiences along for a rollercoaster ride to rival those at the county fairs.
Surprise casting alert: Joan Allen!
Hamlet 2 (limited, opens wide August 29)
Hilarious to say the least judging by the scenes SheKnows has been given.
Elizabeth Shue, Catherine Keener and Steve Googan combine forces to bring the students off a Tucson, Arizona high school a next chapter to the Shakespearian classic.
Check out this preview provided by Focus Features.
The Longshots
Ice Cube joins the true story sports tale genre that has been producing its share of hits of late.
“Longshots” is definitely a story warranting the big screen summer treatment.
The film is the story of Curtis Plumber (Ice Cube), who seeks to reverse his own personal disappointment with a football career gone awry.
Plumber finds himself coaching, mentoring and finding personal strength through his atheltically talented niece as she persues her own goals as a Pop Warner team’s starting quarterback.
Dimension Films is presenting ‘The Longshots.”
An interesting note: Dimension Films used to solely distribute horror films. We have them to thank for Freddy as well as “Scream.”
Don Cheadle anchors a FBI film sure to cause audience jitters as the summer comes to a close, read on…
