Hayden Panettiere and her Heroes are returning

Our favorite cheerleader, Hayden Panettiere, made the rounds Tuesday of the New York talk show circuit — which can only mean one thing: Heroes is back!

Panettiere and her cast of super-human characters return to NBC on September 22. The actress was on both David Letterman’s couch and TRL’s stage, talking up the show’s anticipated return.

If you remember, Heroes was one of the bigger casualties of the TV writers’ strike. The show was only midway through its second season when the strike halted production — and because of the serial nature of the show, producers decided to forgo a shortened second-half season.

Waiting until Fall 2008 to return has its potential costs, but by putting their most famous Hero out there, NBC and Panettiere are quick to remind audiences why they adore Heroes.

Boyfriend (and costar) Milo Ventimiglia were nowhere in sight, but count on the pair’s romance to continue to garner headlines as Heroes returns to the spotlight.

The new season of Panettiere’s hit show is entitled Heroes: Villains, and delves deeper into the dark side of the Heroes and the human’s race’s arch enemies.
