October TV’s big premieres including Pushing Daisies and Private Practice

Though most of the new fall shows have already begun, there are a few stragglers left to premiere in October. SheKnows has your inside look into October’s extraordinary first week.

October 1

ABC has a full night of season premieres. Just look.

Pushing Daisies: Bzzzzzzzzz!
Chuck goes undercover as a Bee Girl at a honey-based cosmetics company after their new spokesmodel (guest star Autumn Reeser) is stung to death. She soon discovers that office politics are killer (literally) between the founder (guest star Missi Pyle as Betty Bee) and the new owner (guest star French Stewart as Woolsey Nicholls). Meanwhile, Ned can’t stand her growing independence – or the fact that she wants to move out of his apartment. In other developments, Lily spirits Olive off to a nunnery so she won’t spill Lily’s deep, dark secret.

Private Practice: A Family Thing
At Oceanside Wellness, friendships are tested and secrets revealed when Addison discovers that Naomi is concealing the practice’s financial problems. Meanwhile, Violet wonders what secret Cooper is keeping from her, while Cooper himself has to decide whether or not to reveal a medical secret to a patient.

Dirty Sexy Money: The Birthday Present
Tripp and Letitia Darling throw Nick a lavish birthday party on a yacht, despite the fact that the day before, Nick and his wife, Lisa, had been planning to celebrate privately. That was before Tripp called Nick to broker a reconciliation between himself and his eldest son, senatorial candidate Patrick, who’s going through a rough patch in his own marriage as he searches for his missing transgendered mistress. Meanwhile youngest son Jeremy reveals his feelings for Lisa to the lovely and mysterious Nola Lyons; the relationship between Karen and Tripp’s nemesis, Simon Elder, enters a new level of intimacy; the de-frocked Brian is reunited with his illegitimate son; the whole Darling family is dealt a blow by the death of one of their own, and someone is arrested for murder.

October 3

ABC and CBS both bow new seasons tonight and The CW launches their first Friday line-up.

First up, ABC has the return of their family-oriented reality shows, Wife Swap and Supernanny.

CBS goes with:

Ghost Whisperer: Firestarter
When a fire breaks out at Rockland University, Jim saves a young psychology professor, Eli, who suffers a near death experience and Melinda befriends him and soon realizes he shares her same ability. Jaime Kennedy joins the cast.

The Ex-List: Pilot (New series)
After a psychic tells Bella that she’s already dated the man she’s destined to marry, Bella makes a list of her exes and sets off on a journey through her past romances, hoping to reconnect with her soul mate.

Numb3rs: High Exposure
Don and his team hunt for the killers of two rock climbers found in possession of a large diamond. Also, Charlie decides if he should try to get his FBI clearance reinstated, and a new agent joins the team

Finally free of Smackdown, The CW programs Friday night for fun!

Everybody Hates Chris: Everybody Hates Tattaglia
As a first-time high school student, Chris (Tyler James Williams) is really looking forward to attending a school with some diversity. Unfortunately, when he arrives at school, he discovers that the school’s new principal, Ms. Morello (guest star Jacqueline Mazarella), has placed him in the only all-white homeroom. Meanwhile, Rochelle helps Tonya land a job at Vanessa’s (guest star Jackee Harry) beauty salon, but the customers don’t take kindly to Tonya’s brutally honest comments about their looks.

The Game: Baby on Board
After Melanie (Tia Mowry) confesses to Derwin (Pooch Hall) that she is still in love with him, Derwin shocks her with the news that Janay (guest star Gabrielle Dennis) may be his baby mama. Kelly (Brittany Daniel) enlists help from her obnoxious parents, Bren and Nick (guest stars Lee Garlington and Don McManus), to keep Jason (Coby Bell) out of her life. Meanwhile, Malik (Hosea Chanchez) is freaked out about his mom (Wendy Raquel Robinson) finding out that he married Robin Givens. The Memphis Grizzly’s Rudy Gay makes a cameo appearance as himself.

That’s followed by a repeat of America’s Next Top Model.

So how’s that for a big week? But it doesn’t end there. There are eleven more shows premiering in October and seven of them are brand new series the likes of which you’ve never seen before. Get ready to laugh, cry, and hide your eyes – there’s a lot more coming in October.
