It’s November! The holiday season is on the way and my freezer is stocked with leftover candy from Halloween. Usually I buy candy I don’t like so I won’t be tempted to eat it, but this year I couldn’t resist the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup deal at CVS. Guess I better start jogging during the commercials.
On Saturday, I tuned in for the premiere of a new syndicated fantasy series based on the books of Terry Goodkind. Legend of the Seeker is full of wizards and magic and some of the most beautiful scenery ever to grace a TV screen. I was intrigued enough to sit through the first two hours but I’m not sure if it will hold my attention as I’m not a big fantasy fan. I have heard from a Goodkind fan who says the show is darned close to the books so if you enjoy that type of story, check your local listings for times and channels.
Primeval had its big season finale on Saturday, killing off my favorite character!! But since Primeval deals with time travel dead doesn’t really mean dead so I have hope. The show comes out on DVD tomorrow and it’s a great buy if you like scifi adventure shows.
And finally, on Numb3rs, hows about Don walking through the doors of synagogue after all these years? It’s a gutsy move, bringing religion into the show but one that feels really right since they’ve always emphasized family life over police procedure. I’m curious to see where they go with this.
Tonight on TV – Monday, November 2
ABC will take you Dancing with the Stars, then Sam goes into real estate on Samantha Who?, and Valerie Bertinelli guests on Boston Legal.
Contestants on NBC’s Deal or No Deal will be playing beat-the-clock, then it’s SNL Presidential Bash 2008.
CBS gets the laughs going with The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother with guest star Eric Braeden of Y&R, Two and a Half Men, and Worst Week, then it’s the attack of the killer crane on CSI: Miami.
If it’s secrets and lies you adore, look no further than The CW’s Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill.
We was robbed, is the cry on Fox’s Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and then it’s time to tunnel again on Prison Break.
Over on cable
Bravo has a new show premiering tonight and it’s all about the finer things most of use will never be able to afford. How depressing is that? It’s called First Class All the Way and it airs after a new Inside the Actor’s Studio with Goldie Hawn.
Food Network has several new treats tonight from Good Eats, to Unwrapped and Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.
The Hills is new at 10:00 and that’s followed by a new aftershow, but I’d like to suggest you try VH1’s Scream Queens, which airs after a new Real Chance of Love.
News and notableABC has given Samantha Who? an order for nearly a full season (20 episodes instead of 22).
NBC has obviously lost their mind since they’re giving Kath and Kim a full season pick-up.
They also went wild on the Heroes production team, firing the two original writers / executive producers.
Valentine and Easy Money have both been canceled and there is no word as to what will fill their slots on The CW’s Sunday schedule.
