American Music Award winners

The American Music Awards handed out their crystal trophies last night at the Nokia Theatre and SheKnows was front and center to witness the winners including Rihanna and Mariah.

Sure we gather to witness the singers, actors and musicians enter the hall in their Sunday best. Many in the audience would say they tune in for the performances of which this night was amazing including Christina Aguilera, Pink, the Jonas Brothers and Leona Lewis.

There are also the awards. On the way in, the stars admitted that this year was wide open in the expecatations department.

“I’m not sure who will win – anyone could,” Aerosmith lead singer Steven Tyler admits to SheKnows on the way into the Nokia Theatre.

“I think there will be some surprises,” pre-show host and Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba adds.
