It is a big surprise that Dancing with the Stars went to Brooke Burke?
On dancing talent alone, Brooke deserved to win Dancing with the Stars but I was still hoping for Lance and Lacey and I’m truly annoyed that they came in third. It was great to see so many of the season’s stars back to dance again but boo to ABC for that tasteless roast of the final three. Do we really need gay and fat jokes on a family TV program such as this? I think not.
After Dancing, I tuned in to Blush: The Search for the Next Great Make-up Artist. After several weeks, I find this show plays best using the fast forward button on my DVR. I’m over Maxie and Mike and all that drama. I want to see these artists put to the test. Last night they had to do wedding make-up which was a nice change of pace, still, I’m bored with this one. It may be time to move on.
I also watched this week’s Sarah Connor episode and as usual I left more confused than informed. Turns out John’s gal pal Riley is from the future too, and she’s up to her neck in it with Derek’s girlfriend and they’re both going a little too Thelma and Louise for my taste. I still like this show, but not as much as I used to.
Tonight, NBC tries something old and different — a live variety show in the spirit of Ed Sullivan! Rosie O’Donnell hosts, sings and dances with some of the biggest stars of TV, music and even old Broadway. Nice when you have so many friends in high places, isn’t it?
Tonight On TV – Wednesday, November 26
NBC has a big night planned with the premiere of Rosie Live. It’s an attempted at bringing back the variety show and I’m all for it. Next up it’s Deal or No Deal and then it’s death by construction crane on Law & Order.
ABC goes with their mostly canceled line-up of Pushing Daisies, Private Practice with guest Grant Show and finally Dirty Sexy Money.
CBS begins with New Adventures of Old Christine and Gary Unmarried, then Criminal Minds, and the discovery of a skeleton in a crushed car makes CSI: NY look like Bones.
The CW is all about style with a double dose of Stylista.
Speaking of Bones, tonight on Fox, Bones’ dad comes to work at the Jeffersonian and then it’s a House repeat.
Over on cable
Ho, ho, ho, it’s magic! The World Magic Awards are on MyNetworkTV tonight.
Bravo has the Foo Fighters on Top Chef: New York.
Style goes for a Clean House with a Love Connection couple.
And it’s the finale of FX’s Sons of Anarchy.
ABCFamily continues their holiday movie spree with The Sons of Mistletoe and Christmas List.
News and notable
NBC has announced the premiere dates for several of their mid-season shows. Superstars of Dance, The Biggest Loser: Couples and Howie Do It will all premiere the week of January 4. Friday Night Lights returns with new episodes (the ones they made for DirectTV) on January 16.
CBS is in the works on a spin-off series for NCIS.
Gabrielle Union has been cast as a detective racing against the clock on a new Frank Spotnitz drama.
