Heroes actress Hayden Panettiere was questioned by police after bouncers at a New York club caught the 19-year-old sneaking into the establishment.
Panettiere was spotted by doormen at NV Lounge after sneaking in a side door, and after asking her to show her ID, management fiscated her license — at which point she flipped out and stupidly called the cops.
The star insisted she needed her ID to fly back to California to meet up with her much-older boyfriend, Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia.
The license was returned after police verified it was genuine, and NV Lounge did not press charges.
That takes a lot of huevos, calling the cops when you’re busted for doing something illegal. If she wasn’t a celebrity, do you think things would have ended differently?
The other side of the coin is that this happened in New York. In Los Angeles, Panettiere and every other underage star is given free reign over any hot nightspot they wish to visit, and both bouncers and cops look the other way. At least the management of this New York bar pulled her out of there.
