Two shows with passionate followings return tonight — Battlestar Galactica and Friday Night Lights.
Friday Night Lights had been lost on a Direct-TV broadcast since the fall and the hugely popular Battlestar Galacticaand its strong female cast launch anew into a hyperspace of adventure.
Last night’s Supernaturalwas the spookiest episode to date. Is it safe to come out from under the covers yet? They even pulled out my worst nightmare of an urban legend, the old ‘drip, drip, drip’ story. You know, where the girl puts her hand down off the bed and it gets licked by. . . the dog? Then they wind it all up with Dean’s confession that he enjoyed torturing souls in hell and you gotta wonder where they’re going here? We’ve all been expecting Sam to go darkside, maybe it’s Dean who is going instead.
Can’t wait for Numb3rs! It’s about a hostage taking on a tour bus in Hollywood — you know that will loaded with thrills. Then, it’s the return of Friday Night Lightsto NBC. If you’re a DirectTV subscriber, this show would technically be a rerun for you, but for everyone else it’s first run. NBC and DirectTV made a deal to co-pay for the series with DirectTV getting the first air rights. Without the deal, NBC would have canceled the series so it will be interesting to see what kind of ratings return they get on their investment.
Tonight On TV — January 15
NBC tries to break CBS’s Friday ratings sweep with a new Howie Do It, then it’s the return of Friday Night Lights followed by Dateline.
ABC counters with their reality line-up of Wife Swap, a rerun of Supernanny, and 20/20.
CBS is still likely to take the night when Sam travels into his past on Ghost Whisperer, a woman holds are husband’s mistress hostage on Flashpoint, and get ready for a wild ride when a Hollywood tour bus is hijacked on Numb3rs.
CW starts with the laughs on Everybody Hates Chris and The Game then offers more laughs (in a totally different way) on a rerun of 13-Fear is Real.
FOX has game and punctuation. Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? and Don’t Forget the Lyrics!
