Jennifer Hudson will step into the spotlight on three occasions in February. This is Hudson’s first public visits since the murders of her mother, brother and nephew in October.
Hudson will first take the field at the Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida where she will sing the National Anthem in front of the largest television audience of the year.Hudson is also on the schedule for the Grammys’ MusiCares event honoring Neil Diamond on February 6.She will then take the stage to perform at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards, where she is nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song (for Spotlight), Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals for her duet with Fantasia (I’m His Only Woman), and Best R&B Album.Hudson joins Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry, Coldplay and Lil Wayne on the Grammy performance schedule.While it was rumored Hudson would perform at this week’s Inauguration festivities, close friend Jamie Foxx said as disappointing as it is, she would not be in attendance.”Of course she was disappointed (to miss the inauguration),” he said. “But nobody has seen her in so long, so it would’ve been crazy.””She’s doing well, and she said that she wants to get back into the swing of things. She’s feeling good.”
Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew were murdered in October, allegedly by the estranged husband of her sister.
