Britney Spears is threatening to cancel her much-hyped Circus comeback tour if her kids can’t come along.
Spears gave custody of boys Sean Preston and Jayden James to ex-husband Kevin Federline during her downward spiral of 2008. Since then she has obtained visitation rights totaling a nearly 50/50 arrangement, but taking the boys on tour without Federline would be in violation of their custody agreement.
Britney, her father (and court-appointed conservator) Jamie and Kevin Federline all came to an agreement that seemed to work great for all parties involved:
Britney would maintain households in New Jersey, New Orleans and Los Angeles while on tour, where the boys and Federline would stay. Britney would fly to the closest location between tour stops to spend time with the boys, and Federline would receive $4000 a week in compensation for taking time away from his lucrative career of doing absolutely nothing.
Why? No good reason really, they just felt left out. Federline’s lawyer say no one wants to interfere with Britney’s career, but that the situation would have been better handled if Britney and Jamie would have ‘manned up’ and went through the proper channels.
But, that being said, the lawyers say they just want to go over everything with a fine tooth comb and are sure something can be worked out.
A rep for Britney said today that everything is still on.
“Britney is so excited to kick off her tour. She has been enjoying every moment of rehearsals and is looking forward to performing in front of a live audience again. Both Sean Preston and Jayden James will, in fact, be joining Britney throughout the duration of her tour.”
