U2 premieres new video

U2 premiered their latest video and we have it. Get On Your Boots is classic new U2 in the sound born with Vertigo.

Bono led the boys from Dublin in a rousing version of Get On Your Boots that opened the 2009 Grammy Awards. The band that has never gone far from public consciousness despite not having a new album for three years is back with a vengeance.

The band will be touring the world off their upcoming record, No Line On The Horizon, due on March 2. Those that have yet to see U2 in concert: this is a ‘can’t miss!’

The Edge, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen Jr and their captain of the rocketship U2, Bono could not be more pleased with the landscape they see in the United States for their new album. After eight years of working with, but disagreeing with the previous administration, Bono and the guys now release an album to American that has a president much more in line with Bono’s political leanings. Look for the man to be in America quite a bit.

The video for U2’s new single Get On Your Boots was directed by French filmmaker and artist Alex Courtes. Alex and former creative partner Martin Fougeral directed the Grammy-winning video for Vertigo and also directed the video for City of Blinding Lights. Needless to say, they’re one of Bono’s favorites.

The video was shot in London and features the band performing against complex graphic art designed by Courtes.

The Edge speaks to the songs origins:

“It’s based around the idea that men have f**ked things up so badly, politically, economically and socially, that it’s really time we handed things over to women. The finished video is brilliant. He’s really nailed it. “
