Kelly Clarkson is dominating charts once again. Clarkson’s new single, My Life Would Suck Without You, landed atop the Billboard Hot 100 chart coming at number one for the second week running.
Last week, My Life Would Suck Without You jumped from number 97 to number one breaking Britney Spears’ record she set for Womanizer. A little bit of Billboard history: the original American Idol’s single leap up the charts also marked the largest leap to number one since Billboard began.
Unlike Spears, although Clarkson has had her ups and downs, helicopters have never flown over her house.
Clarkson is also dominating the digital charts. In her second week, My Life Would Suck Without You sold an astonishing 495,888 downloads since its debut.
Rocketing out of the Lone Star State in 2002, Clarkson set the charts afire with hits A Moment Like This, Miss Independent, Breakaway and Since U Been Gone. Clarkson suffered a slight hit misstep with her previous CD, My December, but has recaptured her Since U Been Gone magic and the charts have answered.
Clarkson is also sporting a new look. We think she looks fabulous and accompanied by her career resurgence, Clarkson is set to make 2009 her year.
Kelly’s latest album, All I Ever Wanted hits stores on March 10 and it appears until that time, fans are relishing Clarkson’s return with her hit My Life Would Suck Without You.
Thus far in Clarkson’s career since winning American Idol in 2002, Kelly has gone platinum 16-times over, won two Grammys, two MTV awards, 2 American Music Awards and an astonishing 11 Billboard Awards.
