Monsters vs Aliens: live from the red carpet

Monsters vs. Aliens is Dreamworks’ latest and greatest animated feature. Monsters vs. Aliens also has the distinction of being the next in a successful line of 3-D features that are returning audiences to the movie theaters in droves.

Monsters vs. Aliens premiered in Hollywood over the weekend and SheKnows has your live feed from the entire event. Stars Kiefer Sutherland, Reese Witherspoon,  and Will Arnett all stop by to say hi and let us all know a little bit more about the epic battle of Monsters vs. Aliens.

Witherspoon portrays a normal human being who has some extraordinary things happen to her. As she joins the fight against invading aliens, Witherspoon’s voice lends a quiet power to the super-human leading the battle. Reese’s Susan Murphy is a normal Southern California girl until she is hit by a meteor from outer space that makes her almost 50-feet tall.

Aliens are invading and the military grabs Susan – who is now renamed Ginormica – and puts her alongside a bunch of monsters to do battle. Helping her is the insect-headed Dr. Cockroach (Hugh Laurie), the half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link (Arnett), a 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus and the beautiful blue blob known as B.O.B (Seth Rogan).

Dreamworks’ has taken SheKnows and our readers on the ride that is a Hollywood premiere of Monsters vs. Aliens

Witherspoon looks fantastic and it is also terrific to see Kiefer portray somebody other than a man barking orders trying to save the world. The Office star Rainn Wilson also makes a red carpet appearance and shares why he had to make the Aliens vs. Monsters red carpet scene — he’s one of the film’s stars!
