Sex and the City fans, rejoice! Not only do we have May 28, 2010 circled on our calendar for a night out with the gals, Manolos, martinis and the Sex and the City sequel on the big screen — we can now be assured Big is back.
At the Tribeca Film Festival, Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed that Chris Noth is officially reprising his role in the Sex and the City sequel. In case you forgot, Big left Carrie at the alter in last year’s blockbuster smash hit and in the end ah yes, they tied the knot at City Hall downtown.
While Parker says she doesn’t know what’s in store for her character, writer-director Michael Patrick King is busy at work crafting the storylines and depth which worked so well in the first flick. Here in Manhattan we’ll keep our eyes and ears peeled once the cameras start rolling!
Noth’s participation was not always a given. He was the last actor to hold out for a sequel contract. Word was, he sough a Big paycheck. Since they could not do a Sex and the City movie without him considering how things were left in the last film, seems Noth knew the producers would pay him whatever he asked. Guess they did!
When Sex and the City: The Movie was filmed there was quite a buzz around various establishments where the cast was filming and even passersby at the Public Library got to witness the heartbreak of Carrie Bradshaw first-hand.
All we know is this: if the sequel is anything like the first flick, SATC fans will be happy in a very Big way.
