Up tops the box office giving Pixar its 10th consecutive number one and we’ve got a clip from Disney’s next classic.
Up took in $68.2 million dollars at the box office as Disney and Pixar scored another hit by knocking off last week’s number one, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, to second place. The brilliant film took a lot of wind out of Night at the Museum’s sails in the family film department and animation fans of all ages. With the new film appearing in many markets in 3-D coupled with good word of mouth and look for Up’s numbers to continue heading up.
Up’s weekend was the movie studios second-biggest opening in their short history. Up $68.2 million was just behind Finding Nemo in second place and The Incredibles in first with its $70.5 million.
In third place was Sam Raimi’s return to the horror genre he adores, Drag Me To Hell, that finished with $16.6 million.
