Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag arrived on the Costa Rican set of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! as fierce as a level-five hurricane.

I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! made its summer 2009 debut June 1. The stand-out star of summer reality television is actually a familiar face — Spencer Pratt.

Sure, he and Heidi are both considered one contestant. But, let’s not kid ourselves, the star on I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! is Spencer Pratt. His repeated exits and returns on the season premiere, along with his wife, are pure reality television villainy.

Watching Spencer at work on The Hills, he was merely a day player compared to the wrath Pratt has extolled thus far on one episode of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here!

Fellow contestants, including a Zen-like Lou Diamond Phillips, the born-again Stephen Baldwin, former wrestler Torrie Wilson, Detroit Pistons bad boy John Salley who is remarkably good and American Idol cast-off Sanjaya, sit like deer in headlights at Spencer’s spats.

In the end, gazing back at Spencer and Heidi’s first television night outside The Hills, it is a terrific piece of entertainment to see these two outside of their Lauren Conrad-centered world.
