Country music gets the spotlight in CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock on ABC starring the industry’s biggest stars. Oh, and Jon and Kate have issues on Jon and Kate Plus 8.
Weekend TV wrap-up
The entire gang from Supernatural was present at a convention in
Vancouver this past weekend, so I spent most of my days monitoring the Twitter tag, getting instant updates on everything that was said by everyone! It was the next best thing to being there and
for that I thank the folks who invented Twitter!
In between sessions I did manage to watch a few shows on TV. I had to try the Syfy movie Mega Shark vs. the Giant Octopus. Lovely photography, horrible movie. Though I did get a big kick
out of seeing an 800-foot shark jump out of the ocean and chomp down on a plane in mid-air, and I’m not talking a little private plane, I’m talking a full-on commercial aircraft. So ridiculous it
was worth watching over and over.
Going from mega shark to mega bucks — the last four designers on Design
Star had a mega-boo-boo when a miscommunication left Dan spending almost half the budget on a boring pergola for a backyard makeover. That mistake put them $5,000 over budget and would
have left the homeowner without furniture for the yard. Design Star coughed up another $5,000 but it’s the first time a team has ever gone over budget like that and I swear they wanted to cancel
all four of them right then and there. In the end, it was Torie who was let go since she was the project manager. Not only did she not manage the money but in the end they delivered a nice
backyard, not a stylish, exciting backyard.
I finished my evening with the second installment of Food Network Challenge: Cereal Bridges. Last time only two out of the four competitors had a piece to enter, this time they only did a
little better. No collapsed bridges, but the work wasn’t up to the usual standard for this show. A first-timer ended up walking away with the prize which proves that anything can happen if you just
get in there and give it your all.
I’m going to give it my all today — I’m not sure what “it” is, exactly, but it’s getting my all. Won’t you join me?
