The forecast for 2009 fall family films is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, followed by a Toy Story or Two with a solid chance of finding Where the Wild Things Are.
SheKnows has gone through a myriad of films arriving in theaters in the next three months as the temperatures dip down. Fall 2009 is a fantastic time for families to put down the DVD and Blu-ray
remotes and head into the cinemplex to be reminded why we love the movies.
Kids of all ages will truly appreciate the family films of fall 2009 – classic literature and characters from all corners find their way to the big screen.
Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs

SheKnows movie fact: The 1982 beloved children’s book by Judi and Ron Barrett finally gets its big screen treatment by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (best known for their work
on How I Met Your Mother).

from the sky when his contraption goes haywire.
SheKnows first look:
The Boys are Back
Release date: September 25
Stars:Gerard Butler, Nicholas McAnulty, George MacKay
SheKnows movie fact: Finally, a feel-good solo dad film to go with all these tear-jerking single mom movies that have touched our hearts.
What it’s about: Clive Owen portrays a father raising two boys after their mother and Owen’s wife passes away from cancer. The Boys are Back sounds as if it
could be depressing, but we think ‘uplifting’ is more the apt word.
The Horse Boy
Release date: September 30
Stars: Documentary — this is real life!
SheKnows movie fact:The Horse Boy is part of a welcomed trend of films reflecting the compelling issues that are griping society such as the explosion of cases of autism
in our children, especially boys. The recent Adam showed great grace capturing the subject and our hopes are high for The Horse Boy.
What it’s about: Filmmaker Michel O Scott looks at a family’s life with an autistic son and the impressive impact that horses have had on his life.
Up next…Toy Story 1 and 2 get the 3-D makeover!
