Some people count the days until Christmas, others can’t wait for the first day of spring. Me? I look forward to the first weeks of September as the new fall TV season starts.
It’s sort of like Christmas in a way in that each new TV show is like a present that I get to unwrap. Will I find a new favorite, can’t miss series? Discover an actor I can’t live without? Or will
the season be full of missteps that need to be canceled as soon as possible? I’m dying to find out and it all begins tonight on The CW.
CW commands
This year, the little netlet that could decided to hit the airwaves first with a hot new line-up that is pure synchronicity. Tuesday nights from here on in will be full of soapy drama as The CW
pairs up remakes of two classic TV hits, 90210 and Melrose Place.
It starts at 8:00 when the 90210 gang decide to make the most of the final
days of summer with one long party at the Beverly Hills Beach Club.
But while Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord), Silver (Jessica Stroup) and Adrianna
(Jessica Lowndes) become close friends, Annie can hardly function after the horrible events of prom night.
Enter Teddy
(guest star Trevor Donovan, Days of Our Lives), a pro-tennis player and the son of a famous movie star. Navid (Michael Steger) organizes
a romantic evening with Adrianna, with hopes of finally losing his virginity and a text message may ruin things for Dixon (Tristan Wilds) and Silver once and for all.
The drama never ends when you’re living in the world’s richest zip code.
Melrose Place returns
After 90210, stay tuned for the series premiere of Melrose Place at 9:00 on The CW.
Secrets and sex, drama and dreams — there’s something exciting happening behind every door in this small apartment complex. Laura
Leighton returns in the role of Sydney Andrews, landlady to this motley crew, which includes the rebellious David Breck (Shaun Sipos), the estranged son of her former lover Dr. Michael
Mancini (Thomas Calabro, who also starred in the original Melrose Place).
Former Supernatural star Katie Cassidy trades in her magic knife for equally dangerous stiletto heels and Sarah Connor’s Stephanie Jacobsen is a med student who must come up with
a creative way to pay her student loans.
The pilot episode is like a crazy block party that ends when the newest tenant, sweet, naïve Violet Foster (Ashlee
Simpson-Wentz), discovers a bloody body floating in the courtyard pool. Welcome to Hollywood.
