MTV Movie Awards nominees are out! No surprise, megahits The Hangover, New Moon and Avatar lead the pack. Movie fans can cast their votes for Best Movie, Male and Female Performance, Kiss, Villain, Fight, WTF Moment and more!
With six nominations,includingBest Movie, the madcap Vegas comedy The Hangover earned the honor of most nominations this year. Stars Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifianakis will battle for Best Comedic performance against Ben Stiller (Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian) and The Proposal stars Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock, while funnyman Ken Jeong is up for Best Villain.
Avatar and New Moon tied with five noms, including Best Movie. The final two in the big category are Alice in Wonderland and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
The Twilightflick also nabbed Best Female Performance (Kristen Stewart) and Best Male Performance (Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner).

Kristen Stewart proves she knows how to land a kiss by getting two noms for Best Kiss! She’s up for her smooches with Pattinson (New Moon) and Dakota Fanning (The Runaways). The other noms are Lautner and Taylor Swift (Valentine’s Day), Bullock and Ryan Reynolds (The Proposal) and Saldana and Worthington (Avatar).
This year’s show also introduces three new categories, Best Scared-as-Sh– Performance, The Biggest Badass Star and Global Superstar.
Best Scared-as-Sh– Performance noms are Alison Lohman (Drag Me to Hell), Amanda Seyfried (Jennifer’s Body), Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland), Katie Featherston (Paranormal Activity) and Sharlto Copley (District 9).
The crew competing for Biggest Badass Star category are Rain, Angelina Jolie, Channing Tatum, Sam Worthington and Chris Pine, while Pattinson, Stewart, Lautner, Daniel Radcliffe and Johnny Depp are set to duke it out for Global Superstar.
The wacky awards show is hoping to get big laughs this year with funnyman Aziz Ansari at the hosting helm. The wisecracker is currently on Parks & Recreation, was the man behind MTV’s Human Giant and has his ownComedy Central special Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening. In addition to stints on Scrubs, Reno 911! and Flight of the Conchords, he took on the big screen with Funny People and the upcoming flick Get Him to the Greek.
As usual, the nominees won’t be the only stars in attendance. Christina Aguilera is set to perform and Cameron Diaz, Tom Cruise, Vanessa Hudgens, Sean “Diddy” Combs and more big names are signed on as presenters.
Through Saturday, June 5, movie fans can cast their votes in every category at MovieAwards.MTV. The Best Movie category will stay open longer, so you can cast your vote throughout the big show, which airs live from Los Angeles, California on Sunday, June 6 at 9 pm on MTV.
