Glee takes on pop superstar Lady Gaga and Rachel finds her long lost mom. With more Glee season one episodes yet to come, the hit show has been picked up for a third season by Fox!
Mr Schuester (Matthew Morrison) tasks the glee club to push their boundaries and express themselves on an episode aptly titled, Theatricality. Who better to inspire this than mainstream performance artist Lady Gaga?
The girls and Kurt (Chris Colfer) get together for a big production of Bad Romance, which will showcase some Gaga-licious costuming on Glee.
“This episode is a tribute to her genius,” Glee costume designer Lou Eyrich told InStyle.com. “The costumes are not replicas; we wanted it [to] look like the kids made them.”
Glee will also cover the Lady Gaga hit Poker Face, which may or may not be the number that gets Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) to go completely goth-tastic with guest stars Idina Menzel (Shelby) and Jonathan Groff (Jesse).
Rachel (Lea Michele), meanwhile, has a major moment with Menzel’s character, Shelby. Last week, it was revealed the Vocal Adrenaline coach is the young songbird’s long lost mom. This week, Rachel puts it all together and makes a life changing move.
In other family news, when Kurt’s dad and Finn’s mom decide to take things to the next level, it’s not easy on the kids and fans can expect an emotional blowout.
“It was pretty intense,” Chris Colfer told Korbi TV. “Reading it on paper, I had no idea it was going to be so intense and then once I got into it, I realized, oh there’s such a bigger meaning behind this! Oh my God, this is so dramatic.”
After the show’s smash hit Madonna episode, which put Madonna back on the iTunes map, fans have high hopes for tonight’s big Lady Gaga fest.
Meanwhile, Glee is celebrating major behind the scenes news: It’s first season has been such a hit that Fox has already gone ahead and picked up a third season!
“[We] are all thrilled and honored by the overwhelming support of Glee from Fox, the studio and our amazing fans,” co-creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy said. “It’s been a whirlwind year — from shooting the pilot to performing at the White House to the concert tour that began last week — and yet we all feel like we’ve just begun this amazing musical journey. Having time to plan ahead is wonderful, and we think our Gleeks worldwide are going to love what we’ll have in store for them in seasons two and three.”
Lady Gaga, ooh la la, indeed!
