5. Javier Bardem: Eat Pray Love (August 13)
Get ready for a bestselling memoir adaptation starring Julia Roberts, with a side of hot Latin lover coming right up. As if fans of Elizabeth Gilbert’s hyper-popular book needed another reason to head to the theater, the Love portion of Eat Pray Love is courtesy of Javier Bardem. Swoon. We saw twenty minutes of the film at an event last month and were blown away by it. But we don’t know what we want to shove into our mouths more; the divinely thin pizza in Italy or Javier’s lips.
4. Bradley Cooper: The A-Team (already in theaters)
Hello, abs of steel! Jim Carrey once described Bradley Cooper, his Yes Man co-star, as “tall, tan, warm and lovely.” In Joe Carnahan’s adaptation of the classic 80s sitcom, he was all those things and more — charming, sexy and ripped up like a guido’s phone number. Bradley Cooper proved there’s nothing like a guy who makes you laugh, especially when you could shred cheese on his rippling washboard stomach.
3. Mark Wahlberg: The Other Guys (August 6)
Thank you, Calvin Klein, thank you! Marky Mark and his third nipple have been giving us good vibrations since the early 90s when his commercials with Kate Moss had everyone’s Calvin’s in a bunch. A bad boy is hot, a reformed bad boy is hotter, Mark Wahlberg is the hottest. In The Other Guys, his new comedy alongside Will Ferrell, Wahlberg makes us laugh and gets us twitter-pated at the same time.
2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt: Inception (July 16)
Joseph Gordon-Levitt speaks fluent French, was raised by left wing activists, is one of the Internet’s most influential due to his ingenious website — HitRecord.org — and looks like a mini-Keanu Reeves mixed with Heath Ledger. Joseph Gordon-Levitt came out of child stardom unscathed. What’s not to love about JGL? If you missed the (500) Days of Summer bus, rent it immediately and prepare to be deeply smitten. The little boy from Third Rock from the Sun grew up to be magically delicious and chose wise roles (Brick, The Lookout) leading up to his shot at the big leagues in Inception, the most anticipated (and, in our opinion, best) film of the summer. We don’t want to give anything away but we will tell you this, Joseph Gordon-Levitt cuts one hell of a fine figure in a well tailored suit.
1. Leonardo DiCaprio: Inception (July 16)
He’s astonished us with his acting chops ever since What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and we will never fully release the fantasy of clinging to him on the bow of the Titanic. Sure it’s tragic, but with Leonardo DiCaprio, it’s kind of sexy too. He’s grown up before our eyes and we love every inch of the man he’s turned into. In Christopher Nolan’s astonishing new film, Inception — which is destined for numerous Oscar nods including Best Picture — once again, Leonardo DiCaprio proves that talent is the sexiest thing a man can possess.
