How do you prepare for TIFF?

For me, any big event is all about the hair. I always say, a woman’s hair is her biggest accessory. So you definitely want to consult with your stylist and colourist to make sure you have a hairstyle that will make you feel beautiful, that works with the dress and that will last.

What five things do you need to survive the festival?

Hyper Hydration Keratin Spray. I take it with me everywhere because it instantly calms the frizz and gives insanely beautiful hair. I created this product as a do-it-at-home version to the famous Keratin treatment that everyone wants.

Shape Up. One of the products from my newest collection SALON by Sally Hershberger. This will give you gorgeous volume all night long. And the hottest style right now is big, bold, sexy hair.

My Mason Pearson brush. It’s what I use at every appointment.

Hot Rollers. They’re a must for red carpet styles.

A list of great restaurants in the area. My current favourite is Sotto Sotto.

Have you ever been star struck?

I don’t get star struck, but one of the most exciting moments of my career was styling Hilary Clinton for the cover of Vogue.

What’s the best advice you can give to a film fest newbie?

Go for a hairstyle that is classically beautiful. Classic is always good especially if you are newer to the film fest scene. You don’t want to worry or wonder about a big risk you might have taken with your hair.

Why is TIFF so great?

First of all, Toronto is an amazing place; great shopping and delicious food. I’m also a huge fan of beauty, fashion and films, which is what TIFF is all about.
