Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees announced including Bon Jovi!

The nominees for the 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have been released, spanning several genres of music. The final list of inductees will be announced in December with the induction ceremony taking place at the Waldorf Astoria on March 14, 2011.

Of the nominees, the president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, Joel Peresman, stated, “We believe our nominating committee has put forth a list of artists that truly represent the wide variety of music that defines rock and roll.”

In order to narrow down the honorees, ballots are sent to more than 500 voters who ultimately select which artists will be inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Eligible nominees must have released their first single or album at least 25 years prior to the nomination, which means the 2011 nominees had to have released a recording no later than 1985.

While not all of the artists on the list will be inducted in 2011, they will all be included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. We, for one, hope Bon Jovi gets the full Hall of Fame treatment!

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be televised live on Fuse on March 14, 2011.
