It seems part of celebrity these days is having your own line of perfumes and now, Taylor Swift has her own Elizabeth Arden perfume in development.
Taylor Swift’s new scent doesn’t have a name yet, but it will hit North American stores in fall 2011 and the songstress will play a part in product development, packaging and advertising.
Swift pairs with Elizabeth Arden
“I have always loved how fragrance can shape a memory the way certain scents remind you of events and people that are imprinted in your thoughts,” said Taylor Swift. “Lately I’ve been having fun experimenting with combining some of my favorite scents, so I’m really excited about working with Elizabeth Arden to develop my own unique fragrance.”
Swift isn’t the first big star to team up with Elizabeth Arden to dally with fragrances. Britney Spears, Elizabeth Taylor, Mariah Carey, Hilary Duff, and Usher have their own lines with Arden, as do Juicy Couture, Badgley Mischka, Bob Mackie, Halston, Kate Spade, Lucky Brand, Rocawear and other designers.
The smell of success
Needless to say, however, the folks at Elizabeth Arden are thrilled to add Swift to their roster of talent.
“Her rise to superstardom has been meteoric, and her multiple awards and incredible record sales are a testament to her extraordinary talent,” said Ronald Rolleston, Elizabeth Arden Executive VP. “Equally important to us is what Taylor represents as an artist: A role model who inspires her global fan base every day. We look forward to launching a new fragrance brand that reflects every facet of this extremely talented young artist.”
Swift’s newest album,Speak Now, in which she reportedly croons to exes John Mayer and Taylor Lautner, landed October 25 and, word is, her first week of sales will exceed a million.
Smells like success to us, but what else does one expect from Taylor Swift, at this point?
