The death of former Bachelorette contestant Julien Hug shocked friends as well as family. As Hug’s family and friends search for answers, police are moving forward saying there were no signs of foul play.
According to Riverside County Deputy Melissa Nieburger, 35-year-old Julien Hug was found in a desolate area off California State Route 74. The former Bachelorette contestant’s body was in such a vast remote area of the San Bernardino National Forest, a helicopter was called in to remove it.

As police search for clues surrounding the death of Julien Hug, who many remember from season five of The Bachelorette, it looks as though detectives believe no foul play was involved. An official cause of death has yet to be released from the coroner’s office.
Former Bachelorette contestants speak out
Julien Hug’s death came out of the blue and shocked his parents who reported their son missing Monday, November 1, after he disappeared while on his way to the new family restaurant in Palm Desert.
The Bachelorette contestant who vied for Jillian Harris‘ heart was remembered as a kind soul by those who knew him. “It’s very difficult to find the words to express my condolences, but I will always remember Julien’s gentle demeanor and kind heart, which will be sadly missed,” Jillian Harris told UsMagazine.com.
Kiptyn Locke also weighed in on the devastating news. “[Hug was] one of the most positive, standout people I have met,” he revealed to OK! Magazine. “He was always trying to help other people. From the very first time I met him, he was just a very selfless guy.”
