Nancy O’Dell to replace Mary Hart on Entertainment Tonight

Mary Hart is hanging up her microphone and bidding farewell to Entertainment Tonight. As Hart is ushered out, Nancy O’Dell will be ushered in.

According to People, Nancy O’Dell will soon be the new face of Entertainment Tonight. The one-time Access Hollywood correspondent will take the reigns from ET veteran, Mary Hart.

“I remember watching Entertainment Tonight when it first premiered and dreaming about working for the show someday,” Nancy O’Dell revealed to People. “I am honored to be the one chosen to fill a TV legend’s seat and I hope I can do her proud!”

Mary Hart, who joined Entertainment Tonight in 1982, decided to exit the long-running show after its 30th season. Hart made the difficult announcement back in August and couldn’t be happier with the recent news of her replacement.

“Leaving this job was not an easy decision, but knowing I will pass the baton to Nancy O’Dell makes that decision much easier,” Hart assured.

Nancy debuts in January

Mary Hart went on to say, “Nancy is a talented and respected entertainment correspondent. We have spent many years working on opposite sides of the celebrity battlefield and I know the show will flourish with Nancy as co-anchor.”

Nancy O’Dell will make her Entertainment Tonight debut in January appearing as a special correspondent before taking over full time when Mary Hart takes her final bow.
