Peter Billingsley brings A Christmas Story to the stage

Peter Billingsley is bringing a Christmas classic to the stage with A Christmas Story: The Musical. Where can you see this epic production? Read on!

You might not remember Peter Billingsley as an actor, but you definitely remember his most famous film. “You’ll shoot your eye out!” Yes, Peter Billingsley is boy — now adult — that played the pink-bunny PJ clad Ralphie in A Christmas Story.

Now, the 39-year-old Billingsley is an executive producer for films like Iron Man and Four Christmases. Oh, did we mention that he’s creating a music for A Christmas Story? Billingsley is serving as executive producer on the Seattle musical production of the film. A Christmas Story: The Musical! is running now until December 30 at the 5th Avenue Theater in Seattle and reportedly stays pretty close to the movie. It also features an original score created by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

A Christmas Story has always meant a lot to me personally,” Billingsley told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m excited to bring this film to the stage because the story and the characters lend themselves so well to the world of musicals.”

A Christmas Story Musical: Nationwide production?

The musical is only in Seattle for this year — but we hope it’s a huge success so Billingsley will consider taking it nationwide in the coming years. Who wouldn’t want a production of A Christmas Story in their city? Exactly.

We’re also hoping this will encourage stage productions of other classic movies — a stage production ofFerris Bueller’s Day Off or Back to the Future, anyone?
