‘Tis the season to duke it out at the box office and this weekend Little Fockers managed to knock-out the competition.
Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Barbra Streisand and Dustin Hoffman returned to the big screen with the big sequel to Meet the Parents, Little Fockers. Little Fockers topped the Christmas weekend box office with $48.3 million since the comedy opened December 22.
True Grit, starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, sat safely in the number two spot with a five-day total of $36.8 million, while Jeff Bridges‘ other box-office hit, Tron: Legacy, slid to the number three slot with $20.1 million. Bridges is having quite the 2010 wrap-up with two movies sitting at the top of the box office and a stellar Saturday Night Liveshowing December 18.
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treadercame in at number four with $10.8 million and Yogi Bear rounded out the top five with $8.8 million. The Fighter nabbed sixth with $8.5 million.
Family-friendly flick Gulliver’s Travels, featuring the lovable Jack Black, opened to a bleak $7.2 million edging out Black Swanwhich took $6.6 million. Rounding out the top ten were Disney’s Tangled with $6.5 million and The Tourist with $5.7 million.
