LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian have officially announced their engagement, just weeks after hotly denying they were going to wed.
LeAnn Rimes got pretty hot under the collar a few weeks back when news leaked of her engagement to Eddie Cibrian. LeAnn claimed the report was totally false, but now it turns out she and Cibrian actually are getting married.
LeAnn announced the news on Twitter. “For those who haven’t read, Eddie and I got engaged over the holidays. That’s the news. It’s for real this time and the first time ever!”
A little while later LeAnn Rimes followed up: “Thank you for all your well wishes!! We are extremely excited and look forward to a beautiful future. It’s been an incredible last few days, I was shocked!!! We are blessed, our families are so happy and our lives are filled with love.”
LeAnn Rimes once again denied she and Cibrian got engaged in November. “We got engaged on Christmas Eve, period the end. We’ve never been engaged to each other at all before that. We’ve always known that’s where it was headed, but never was it official until now and we couldn’t be happier.”
Interestingly, Rimes shares a publicist with Natalie Portman, who announced her own engagement — and pregnancy — the same day as LeAnn.
Rimes and Cibrian started their fairy tale romance by cheating on their respective spouses and lying to the public (and, of course, their spouses) about it for months. Cibrian’s wife was put in the humiliating position of defending him, only to have to eat her words when the rumors later proved to be true.
Not to be outdone, LeAnn’s ex-husband Dean Sheremet announced his own engagement immediately after the rumors of LeAnn’s surfaced last month.
