2010 Golden Globe Awards recap

Neither unpredictable weather nor a still-struggling economy could dampen the excitement of the 2010 Golden Globe Awards.

Hilariously hosted by a newly-slender Ricky Gervais, the 2010 Golden Globes gave us a spectacular dose of Hollywood glamour and a sneak peek at what we could expect from the Oscars.

The star-studded show honors both film and television performances and is broadcast in 160 countries, exposing a worldwide audience to Gervais’ razor-sharp jokes about Angelina Jolie and Mel Gibson.

Some highlights of the awards included Drew Barrymore winning her first Golden Globe 25 years after her very first nomination, Jeff Bridges finally getting the recognition he deserves with his Best Actor win, and Robert Downey Jr.’s charming acceptance speech.
