Britney Spears started shooting the video for her hot single Hold It Against Me this weekend and Sunday, she tweeted the video’s first sneak peek image. Someone else also posted a sneak peek, but that one went onto Spears’ “BS Alert” page.
“Day 1 of the HIAM shoot with Jonas (Akerlund, who directed Lady Gaga’s Telephone). Such an incredible experience,” Britney Spears tweeted on Saturday, January 22. “I think this will be one of the best videos I have ever done.”
After wrapping the second day of shooting, Brit was so excited that she snapped an image off a camera monitor and shared it via Twitter.
Clad in what appears to be red vinyl with a peek-a-boo back, the diva is looking over her shoulder through a wreath of microphones.
While her Hold It Against Me sneak peek is just an image, other tweets reveal we can expect the usual from Brit’s new video: “Dance, dance, and more dance,” she tweeted.
Choreographer Brian Friedman seems pleased with her performance. “@britneyspears killed it!” tweeted Friedman. “She danced her ass off! Great work 2 my dancers too… Y’all slayed. HIAM video will be legendary! Thank you @britneyspears for being YOU, Jonas Akerlund 4 Brilliance & the dancers! Werk”
“BS” stands for more than Britney Spears
Just days before Spears tweeted her own sneak peek image, the website Breatheheavy leaked a few other images. According to Spears’ website, however, the “BH First Look” images were fakes!
Brit Brit is so often misrepresented that she actually has a “BS Alert” page on her blog, and it doesn’t stand for Britney Spears Alert!
“You want a piece of Britney?” the page asks. “Every single day, the media is flooded with bulls#!t stories about Britney Spears. BritneySpears.com Bulls#!t Alerts give you the inside-scoop — straight from Britney and her team on what’s true and what’s bull.”
Along the same lines, when a demo version of Hold It Against Me was leaked earlier this month, Spears was forced to rush the release of her official recording and push the radio stations to play the real deal.
That didn’t hurt the single’s sales, however. The Dr. Luke-Max Martin-produced track debuted at number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart after its January 11 release, and beat out Taylor Swift’s Today Was a Fairytale by selling 411,000 digital downloads in the U.S. within one week of its exclusive release on iTunes. It was also number one in 19 other countries.
According to Billboard, it was Spears’ best sales week for a digital song and the largest debut for a woman as a lead artist. She also landed the highest number of spins for a first or one-day at Mediabase and BDS.
Hold It Against Me comes from Britney Spears’ as-yet untitled new album, which is set for release in March 2011.
