Mark Zuckerberg and Jesse Eisenberg appear together on Saturday Night Live

The Social Network‘s Jesse Eisenberg came face-to-face with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg on Saturday Night Live. The world finally got a real-deal side-by-side look at the two — Eisenberg who played Zuckerberg in The Social Network.

We had hoped Mark Zuckerberg would be a good sport and stop bySaturday Night Live for Jesse Eisenberg’s big night hosting and our prayers were answered. The Social Network’s Academy Award nominee got to shake the hand of the Facebook titan as the world witnessed their first meeting.

Jesse Eisenberg, who portrays Mark Zuckerberg in the film, opened Saturday Night Live this week with Andy Samberg decked out in his own Zuckerberg costume, which included a fantastic wig and the Facebook CEO’s famous hoodie.

The camera then cut to backstage with Lorne Michaels and Mark Zuckerberg watching Eisenberg and Samberg. “Why can’t I go in there? I’m the real Mark Zuckerberg,” the billionaire asked Michaels. Adding, “Come on. I invented Poking!”

Lorne Michaels kept the moment going, telling Zuckerberg, “Yeah, and I’m pretty sure at least one of those guys is the real Mark Zuckerberg. You’re better off backstage.”

By the end of the bit, Mark Zuckerberg did make his way onto the Saturday Night Live stage, giving fans a triple-Zuckerberg moment. Samberg introduced Jesse Eisenberg and Zuckerberg before stepping off the stage with one last quip. “Wait. Have you two not met?” asked Samberg. “Awkward!”

Of course, The Social Network star had to know what Zuckerberg thought of the film. “Did you ever end up seeing the film? What did you think?” Jesse Eisenberg deadpanned.

“It was interesting,” Zuckerberg said before shaking Eisenberg’s hand.

See if The Social Network and Jesse Eisenberg make Oscar night a special one when the awards are presented on February 27.
