Singing the national anthem during the biggest game of the year is never easy — just ask Christina Aguilera. During Sunday’s Super Bowl game between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, Christina Aguilera got a bit flustered during her rendition of the national anthem. We all saw and heard what happened in Arlington, Texas and the singer is going on record in regards to the mishap.
“I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through,” Aguilera said of her national anthem performance. Hey, it happens. At least she isn’t acting like it didn’t.

Rather than belting out “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming,” she echoed the lyrics before, singing, “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming.”
Aguilera also sang the word “watched” instead of “hailed.”
