Katy Perry makes hit records, gets covered on Glee, produces Grammy nominations and recently served as a guest star on How I Met Your Mother — a very good one at that!
Katy Perry’s long-awaited guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother has come and gone but her impression will last with fans for quite a while. While promos goofed that Katy Perry might just be the elusive mother, it turns out her character was far from the mothering kind.
On Monday night’s episode ofHow I Met Your Mother, Katy Perry turned up as Honey — no one remembers her real name so she’s called Honey — a gullible yet lovable little minx who is originally set up with Ted (Josh Radnor), but falls into the clutches of Barney (Neil Patrick Harris). The big joke of the episode is Honey’s ability to make people feel sorry for her gullible nature — “Oh, Honey” is the gang’s running gag — hence her nickname.
Katy Perry did a fantastic job as the object of Barney’s fascination for the night. The Firework singer has great instincts and comedic timing up against a group that has made How I Met Your Mother a fan favorite. The show has sparked some pretty popular guest spots including Regis Philbin and Britney Spears. Katy Perry’s character Honey is right at the top as a fan favorite. So much in fact, it might not be a stretch to ask the “Powers That Be” to make her character a reoccurring one.
