Debbie Reynolds reveals all to Oprah

Singer Debbie Reynolds appeared on Tuesday’s Oprah alongside her daughter, Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher. How does she feel about Elizabeth Taylor after all these years?

Actress Debbie Reynolds appeared on Tuesday’s Oprah with daughter Carrie Fisher – and both legendary actresses had plenty to say. The Singin’ in the Rain singer dished on a lot of things during her appearance on the show, including her marriage to Eddie Fisher, Elizabeth Taylor and second husband Harry Karl.

Many describe the Reynolds, Fisher and Taylor love triangle as the 1950’s version of Brangelina and Jennifer Aniston. Reynolds even dished on how she eventually found out about Fisher’s affair.

“He had gone to New York for some business, but I didn’t know it was monkey business,” Reynolds remembered.

She was also in the city, so she tried calling his hotel room.

“I called his room and he wasn’t there. So then I called Elizabeth’s room. Eddie took the call,” she told Oprah. “So then I heard Elizabeth saying, ‘Who is it, darling?’ I said, ‘Would you just roll over and put Elizabeth on the phone?’ So he did. She wouldn’t take the call. He rolled out of bed and [came] home.”

“The whole thing was so sad because Elizabeth was really in deep mourning and so she really turned to Eddie in all of this need. I was young and I didn’t realize that [Elizabeth] was turning to Eddie,” Reynolds continued. “I don’t blame Elizabeth now that I have more of a brain about it. At the time it was just such a shock to me.”

Eddie Fisher passed away in September 2010 at 82.

Her marriage to Karl was just as scandalous – she revealed that he was actually a pimp and the “manicurists” he employed were actually prostitutes as well.

“While they were at work they just doubled the duty. I didn’t know anything about it because I believed they were manicurists (although) I wondered why it took so long.”
