Alec Baldwin is the latest star signed for Rock of Ages

Alec Baldwin is the latest A-list celebrity to join the cast of Adam Shankman’s big screen version of Rock of Ages.

What do you get when you put Tom Cruise, Mary J. Blige, Julianne Hough and now Alec Baldwin all on the same movie screen? The most bitchin’ cast for the movie musical version of Rock of Agesthat Adam Shankman could have asked for, that’s what.

Alec Baldwin has been confirmed as the latest addition to Rock of Ages and Adam Shankman couldn’t be more thrilled. “So, based on info I got today, I’m gonna confirm Alec Baldwin as Dennis in Rock of Ages. Hollah,” Adam Shankman tweeted on March 5.

He added, “Can’t wait to start #rockofagesmovie. Julianne Hough, Alec Baldwin, Mary J. Blige, Tom Cruise confirmed. I love my cast. More to come.”

To take the confirmation a step further even though Twitter seems to be the most reliable source these days, a rep for Baldwin confirmed the news to Access Hollywood on March 6.

Adam Shankman has been all atwitter lately over his cast and we mean that literally. He recently tweeted his decision to cast Julianne Hough. “Yes, it’s true. Julianne Hough was beyond brilliant in her audition, and will be rocking the role of Sherrie Christian in #rockofagesmovie,” he tweeted. As previously reported, Tom Cruise will take on the lead role and Julianne Hough’s love interest, Stacee.
