Grzegorz Matlok was caught red-handed in Madonna‘s London home this weekend. The stalker broke a side window, entered Madge’s estate and hid out for a bit, but was caught by her bodyguards at 5:30 a.m. Matlok, 29, has been charged with burglary, and this isn’t his first visit to the Material Girl.
Madonna’s London home is protected by CCTV cameras, a state-of-the-art alarm system and a security team, but that didn’t stop Grzegorz Matlok from making an uninvited visit on Saturday, March 12, 2011.
“Something dreadful has happened here,” a senior police source told The Sun. “The security around the world’s most famous pop star should be impregnable.”
Matlok was discovered in Madonna’s Marylebone estate Saturday, charged with burglary Sunday and appeared in a Westminster court on Monday. Word is he came from Poland to be with Madonna, believing he was in a relationship with her.
“Mr. Matlok, as he explained in his interview, has initially rung the doorbell, it has not been answered, so he climbed onto the balcony using a rope he brought with him,” prosecutor Punal Chopra told the court, according to Britain’s Daily Star.
“He entered bedrooms and bedclothes have been disturbed, particularly the bed belonging to the artist. He explained to police he had traveled from Poland with the specific intention of meeting the artist known as Madonna, who he believes he is in an intimate relationship with.”
According to prosecutors, this wasn’t Matlok’s first visit. He was deported back to Poland last year, after breaking into Madonna’s Yorkshire home and trying on some clothes belonging to Madonna’s ex-husband Guy Ritchie.
“There is a suggestion in the prosecution papers that there is history of mental health problems, including an admission to hospital in the recent past,” Matlok’s defense claimed.
Matlok is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation.
The Madonna break-in was a low-key affair, as Madonna and kids Lourdes, 14, Mercy, 6, Rocco, 10, and David, 5, were stateside mourning the loss of Madge’s 99-year-old grandmother. The late Elsie Mae Fortin, who raised Madonna and her sibs, died last Wednesday in Bay City, Michigan.
