Taylor Swift loves all types of music — and she showed off her affinity for the U.K. band Mumford and Sons during a recent live appearance. How did she do?
Taylor Swift recently admitted to Jay Leno that she’s listening to a lot of Nicki Minaj, 50 Cent and Rihanna these days, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t appreciate music closer to her style, like Mumford and Sons.
Swift, 21, recently covered the British band’s White Blank Page while making a guest appearance on the BBC. Fans of Mumford and Sons are split on the Swift remake.
“I think so many people just can’t believe Taylor Swift is singing a Mumford and Sons song. To the fans, Mumford and Sons is like, sacred. We all wanted to keep them secret, keep them safe, and they have just blown up,” one fan wrote on YouTube.
“It’s not a bad thing, and this cover is not bad. It is just weird. Loving a band so much, it’s such a bittersweet thing, you want them to have success because they are amazing and deserve it but at the same time you want to keep them hidden, because the mass media can destroy.”
We get it — but Mumford and Sons is getting a lot of attention these days, so they’ll soon be a household name (our prediction).
