Lady Gaga apologizes for using the word retarded

Lady Gaga is now apologizing for using the word “retarded” when discussing plagiarism claims. Do you think she’s sincere?

Lady Gaga is apologizing for her recent use of the word “retarded” when discussing rumors that she plagiarizes from Madonna.

“That’s retarded,” the Born This Way singer said during a recent interview with NME magazine. “If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression. It’s the same one that’s been in disco music for the last 50 years. Just because I’m the first (expletive) artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn’t mean I’m a plagiarist, it means I’m (expletive) smart. Sorry.”

Wow! We were floored that Lady Gaga would use such an offensive word. Well, now she’s feeling the heat and is apologizing for her use of the word.

“I consider it part of my life’s work and music to push the boundaries of love and acceptance. My apologies for not speaking thoughtfully. To anyone that was hurt, please know that it was furiously unintentional,” Gaga wrote in a statement to Perez Hilton. “Whether life’s disabilities, left you outcast bullied or teased, rejoice and love yourself today.”

We’re happy that she’s apologizing — but why does she even have that word in her vernacular? Sounds like Gaga needs to walk the walk that she talks so much about, eh?
