Just Friends actress Amy Smart is engaged to be married to HGTV’s Carter Oosterhouse! She shared the happy news at an event in New York City — and showed off her huge engagement ring (see close-up photo of her ring below) as she talked about her new fiance.
“I’m so happy. It was so beautiful, romantic and I was completely surprised. I’m just really happy and enjoying this time,” she told OK! Magazine.
Smart and Oosterhouse met in November at a green charity event and hit it off right away. “They are perfect for each other,” an insider tells Us Magazine. “Here are two wholesome, kind, sweet Midwestern types. Neither has sold out and gone Hollywood.”
How did he propose? Smart isn’t sharing many details, saying, “That’s personal, but it was very touching, very loving.”
The actress, who was previously engaged to actor Branden Williams, says she would “love to have children. That’s definitely something I want.”
Can we expect to be calling her Amy Oosterhouse soon? “I would for personal reasons, but not for my professional name. I mean, I got teased my whole childhood, but now I feel the need to live up to it. I like my last name!”
