Breakup rumors have been swirling around Leonardo DiCaprio and his supermodel girlfriend Bar Refaeli lately. But it’s Refaeli’s shocking topless layout in GQ Italia‘s new war-themed issue that has set tongues wagging.
The Sports Illustrated model has made a career out of posing scantily clad, but photos of the Israeli-born Refaeli in mock-military garb have called into question whether or not she dodged doing military service in her native country. Israeli law decrees that citizens are required to serve in the country’s Defense Forces.
Unlike her peers, Refaeli managed to dodge military service by getting married to an acquaintance. Some say that Refaeli got married solely to escape her duty. The couple later divorced, though Bar has no regrets.
In an interview, Refaeli says of her non-military service, “I don’t regret not enlisting, because it paid off big time,” adding, “That’s just the way it is. Celebrities have other needs.”
DiCaprio and Refaeli are rumored to be in a “rough patch” at the moment. The couple split up for six months in 2009 and sources are saying they might call it quits again.
