Glee‘s Matthew Morrison is bringing some personal flair to the show’s season finale — his own song!
We don’t know who’s going to win prom king and queen on this week’s episode of Glee, but we do know a little something about the season two finale — Matthew Morrison will sing one of his own songs!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matthew Morrison will perform a tune called Still Got Tonight from his upcoming album!
Glee’s lovable glee club coach, Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), will take on the song from an empty stage.
The episode is part of the New York City setting that the cast was in town to tape. Glee’s creator Ryan Murphy originally had plans to go big with the number but opted to take it down a notch. Here’s why:
“It’s about aspiration,” Murphy said. “It worked because we wanted to do a scene where Matt goes into a Broadway hall and sings something alone… We worked really hard to make it feel organic to the show.”
Matthew Morrison’s self-titled album will be in stores May 10 and Glee’s season finale airs May 24 on Fox. Don’t forget to tune in this week to see who is crowned king and queen of Glee’s highly anticipated prom episode. From the looks of the slap Rachel Berry receives from Quinn Fabray, it’s bound to be good!
