Jillian Michaels could become a mother any day now! The former Biggest Loser trainer is in the process of adopting a baby from the Congo and says it’s now just a matter of time.
Jillian Michaels’ baby dreams are in the works. The 37-year-old, who recently quit the Biggest Loser and signed on with The Doctors, is deep into plans to adopt a baby from the Congo. Jillian recently spoke with Us Weekly and gave an update as to how far along she is in the complicated process.
Jillian explains, “My dossier, which is your paperwork portfolio, is in to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. So the paperwork is done, and now it’s just a waiting game. It could be six months, twelve months; it could be two years. Or, it could be tomorrow!”
It’s now down to a waiting game of sitting by the phone for Jillian. She continues, “They call you and they say, ‘Oh, we have your referral,’ which is essentially the child they match you up with, and you go overseas and you get him or her.”
Jillian Michaels first divulged her adoption dreams last year when she made this ill-received statement about pregnancy, “I can’t handle doing that to my body. Also, when you rescue something, it’s like rescuing a part of yourself.”
The fitness guru later clarified that her personal issues with endometriosis and polycystic ovaries led her to make that statement, not a disdain for the changes pregnancy brings to a body. Jillian commented, “I don’t feel that pregnancy ruins a body at all, and I was really upset that an entire community of women felt hurt by what I allegedly said.”
Here’s hoping that Jillian Michaels’ adoption baby dreams come true soon!
