Teen Mom Amber Portwood loses custody of Leah

Teen MomAmber Portwood has lost custody of her two-year-old daughter Leah. Primary custody was given to Leah’s dad, Gary Shirley.

Teen Mom Amber Portwood had an emergency meeting with Child Protective Services today because she was worried about the safety of her two-year-old daughter Leah. The 20-year-old mom said that since her car and her house have been recently vandalized, she is worried about the safety of her daughter.

Her car was spray painted with yellow paint on the doors, front and back of the car.

Primary custody has since been awarded to the dad, Gary Shirley — and Portwood is said to be happy about it. CPS decided to take these actions not because Portwood is an unfit mom, but for the safety of Leah. She will be allowed to have visitation with her daughter, however, she has a no-contact order saying she cannot be with Shirley and her daughter at the same time.

All of this happens just two days after Portwood was at a hearing in which she rejected a plea deal for her felony assault charges for assaulting baby daddy Gary while filming the MTV reality show.

The next trial date for the Teen Mom star is set for November 16, 2011 and she has 60 days to come up with a new plea deal.

If she is convicted, Portwood will have to pay a $10,000 fine as well as serve three years in jail.
