Michael Bay‘s Transformers: Dark of the Moon will be hitting theaters a little earlier this year. The release date for the new sequel in the action franchise has been pushed up from Friday, July 1 to Wednesday, June 29.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon has received such positive buzz from preview screenings that Paramount has decided to kick up its release. By debuting on June 29, the sequel will open on the same date across the globe — with the exception of China and Japan.
According to an inside source, test audiences really love what Michael Bay has done with the new film. The studio wants the word out that Dark of the Moon has mind-blowing 3D and it’s way better than Revenge of the Fallen.
The new release date makes Transformers: Dark of the Moon the only action film opening this summer between June 24 and July 15. The competition will be nonexistent. Transformers will have the action audience all to themselves!
The returning cast for the film includes Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel and John Turturro. Some new faces that will grace the screen include model-turned-actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey and John Malkovich. Do you plan on returning to theaters to see Transformers’ last hurrah?
