Summer is upon us and just as it is for many kids, it is a time of freedom and fun. Judy Moody is ready for her summer off from school’s demands and when her plans for the season go south, she decides to create her own imaginative joy. Judy imagines her perfect summer and unfortunately, like often in life, things do not go quite as planned. She is planning a summer for the ages with her besties Rocky and Amy who have other things on their agenda. Rocky is heading to circus camp and Amy is jetting to Borneo with her mother. Judy is forced to stay home with her less than perfect little brother, affectionately named Stink and her second-tier friend, Frank.
Then, as it often does, things get worse. Her parents announce they’re heading to California and Judy must stay behind with her aunt Opal (Heather Graham). Her sizzling summer is suddenly sinking.
When Judy utilizes that priceless tool that is a child’s imagination, what seemed like a bummer summer has potential to morph into the best ever!
