Rapper Sean Kingston is in the hospital after crashing his personal watercraft into a bridge near his Miami Beach home.
Hip hop singer Sean Kingston is in critical condition at a Miami hospital after crashing his jet ski into a bridge, according to TMZ.
“Sean Kingston was in an accident today. No further details are available at the moment. He and his family thank everyone for the well-wishes,” his rep said in a statement to TMZ.
The singer was riding in his jet ski near Miami Beach’s private Palm Island when he crashed into the bridge that connects the island to the rest of Miami Beach. Both Kingston and his female passenger were rescued by medical professionals and rushed to an area hospital.
Miami TV station Local 10 is reporting that Kingston’s family gathered at the hospital right after the 6 p.m. accident. TMZ added that his injuries are so severe that he’s been moved to a trauma ward.
Alcohol isn’t believed to be a factor in the accident, though an investigation is still under way.
Celebrity friends and fans have already taken to Twitter to wish him a speedy recovery.
“Sean we prayin’ for u baby,” Rihanna tweeted.
“Got my friend @seankingston in my prayers tonight. a true friend and big bro. please keep him in your prayers tonight as well,” added Kingston’s friend and duet partner Justin Bieber.
How scary. We hope the Beautiful Girls singer’s injuries aren’t very serious and that he can get out of the hospital soon.
