The first trailer for Robert Rodriguez’s Spy Kids: All the Time in the World has just been released. Jessica Alba headlines the latest sequel in the franchise and takes over parenting duties to a new group of pre-pubescent crime fighters.
In Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, Jessica Alba plays Melissa, the wife of Joel McHale (NBC’s Community) and the stepmother to his two children Rebecca (Rowan Blanchard) and Cecil (Mason Cool). On the surface, she looks like the typical stay-at-home mom but there’s more to her story. She’s a retired spy!
Melissa gets sucked back into the business of international crime fighting when a villain called the Timekeeper (Jeremy Piven) tries to take over the world. She can’t defeat him on her own so she gets reinforcements from her stepchildren as well as Spy Kid veterans Carmen (Alexa Vega) and Juni Cortez (Daryl Sabara).
Spy Kids: All the Time in the World will have a nice mix of old and new faces. Besides Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara, Antonio Banderas and Danny Trejo also make appearances in the sequel. We also can’t forget that Ricky Gervais pops up as the voice of the family dog, which is an interesting addition.
Spy Kids: All the Time in the World opens in theaters everywhere on August 19. Are you psyched to see Jessica Alba take on mommy duty?
