USA network kicks off sizzling summer season

The USA network is heating up for summer. June will see the premieres of six new original series, including returning faves White Collar, Burn Notice, Covert Affairs and Royal Pains and new additions Necessary Roughness and Suits. USA, Entertainment Weekly and Häagen-Dazs get fans heated up and cooled down for the new season.

With In Plain Sight and Law & Order: Criminal Intent already airing on USA, the new summer shows kick off next week.

White Collarand Covert Affairs premiere Tuesday, June 7, starting at 9 p.m.

Royal Pains returns Wednesday, June 29 at 9, leading into the premiere of Necessary Roughness. The new series starring Callie Thorne kicks off when Dr. Dani Santino finds out her husband is cheating, and then finds herself the new team therapist for the local football franchise. Thanks to her success on the field, the doc soon finds high-profile athletes, entertainers and newsmakers clamoring for sessions.

Burn Noticereturns Thursday, June 23, leading into the premiere of Suits at 10. The new series follows the adventures of two not-so-cookie-cutter lawyers, closer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and brainiac newbie Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams).

To promote the big premieres, look for USA actors like Matt Bomer, Christopher Gorham and Piper Perabo to take over the daytime and late night talk show circuit.

The network has also teamed up with Entertainment Weekly and the Häagen-Dazs brand for a multi-faceted summer campaign. New Yorkers got to take part in a three-day outdoor ice cream and sneak peek fest this week and USA and Entertainment Weekly will “co-present a promotional guide to summer fun in 10 cities, which will be distributed at various outlets throughout the summer.”
